Best Bluebonnet Route in Texas

Even though bluebonnet photos are almost cliché, who doesn’t feel a thrill when they spot our beautiful blues popping up?
One of my favorite road trips is down highway 281 to Fredericksburg. If you have not been through Marble Falls and Hill Country, this trip is a must. The views are fantastic, especially in April when the wildflowers are blooming.

A little side note…

Not to mention Fredericksburg is a fabulous town with an Old Texas feel, bed and breakfasts, German food, and flowers!
If you can’t take a long trip this Spring, I hear that Ennis is a great spot to go. And even closer, on Spring Creek in Plano (across from Collin College), there are lush hills of wildflowers and bluebonnets.

So, where have you seen wildflowers near you? Do you know of a great sight-seeing route in the area?

Update April 5– On Bethany Rd in Allen, west of 75, there are thousands of bluebonnets for about a mile. Definitely the #1 spot in Dallas.
